Job Summary:

The Central Supply/Transportation Aide is a vital member of our team at Somerset Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. This role is responsible for maintaining and ordering medical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper inventory management, and providing excellent customer service to our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and order all medical supplies and equipment for the facility from approved vendors.
  • Unpack and inspect all supplies upon arrival and delivery.
  • Prepare and submit purchase orders, invoices, and other documentation as required.
  • Assist in developing methods for determining supply and equipment needs.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management and storage procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized supply and storage environment.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and cleaning as directed.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
  • Manage Part B supplies and documentation.
  • Stock and distribute supplies to nursing units and other locations as needed.
  • Maintain a documented, organized system for supply management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Assist with resident transfers and provide support as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between residents and staff, providing information and assistance as necessary.
  • Ensure effective internal communication and follow-up on appointments.
  • Transport necessary documents and specimens as required.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Appointment Coordinator and Director of Nursing.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in supply management or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift and move supplies as needed.
