Key Responsibilities
- Provide independent primary care under indirect supervision in a correctional healthcare environment for a designated group of non-emergency patients.
- Conduct medical assessments, evaluations, diagnoses, treatments, follow-up consultations, and health education.
- Gather patient histories and formulate treatment plans, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy using the POMR format.
- Oversee and/or coordinate the activities of patient care and support personnel.
- Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic health conditions.
- Prescribe medications and other therapeutic interventions.
- Engage in program planning and contribute to the development of specific health policies and procedures.
- Active Nurse Practitioner license.
- Current CPR certification; ACLS certification is preferred.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Proficient in electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment Level 2 clearance, including background checks and drug screenings.
