The Physical Therapist is responsible for assessing and treating residents based on physician directives, utilizing various therapeutic techniques aimed at restoring muscle strength, coordination, and alignment, alleviating pain, and enhancing mobility and functionality.
As part of an interdisciplinary team, the Physical Therapist contributes valuable insights and support in the realm of Physical Therapy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze available resident data and assess its relevance to the evaluation and treatment process.
- Perform and document a comprehensive functional assessment of the resident, employing standardized methodologies. Evaluate home/vocational and equipment requirements.
- Design and execute a personalized treatment plan tailored to resident needs, incorporating achievable functional objectives.
- Adhere to evaluation, treatment, and documentation protocols while consistently maintaining accurate and timely departmental records.
- Guide Assistants in treatment methodologies and provide close oversight during their interactions with residents.
- Document progress notes in the resident's record after each treatment session.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy.
- Current licensure in the state of practice.
- Preferred experience in a setting catering to a similar demographic as served by this facility.
- Relevant certifications and demonstrated expertise in specified areas of specialization.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, along with effective interpersonal abilities.
- Proven proficiency in applying the principles, methods, materials, and equipment utilized in physical therapy.
