Job Summary

This position is responsible for assisting with the management of sleep medicine patients by performing clinical duties, responding to patient inquiries, and coordinating care both at the office and at outside facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians and/or Advanced Practice Providers with the management of sleep medicine patients.
  • Perform clinical duties, including responding to patient telephone inquiries and coordinating care.
  • Work closely with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of sleep and pulmonary medicine, PAP therapy, and healthcare systems.
  • Counsel patients on sleep study results and prescribed therapies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information.
  • Develop and maintain strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, physicians, and other staff.
  • Manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities to meet changing demands.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Requirements

  • Completion of nursing or respiratory therapy training from an accredited school of nursing or allied health.
  • Active State of Maine Nursing or Respiratory Therapy License or eligibility for licensure.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Two years of experience preferred.
