We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Sweeping Corporation of America. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the functionality and reliability of our machinery and vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Machine Assembly and Maintenance: Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements.
- Diagnostic and Repair Services: Inspect machines, engines, transmissions, and other components, and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues. Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems. Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components.
- Fluid and Component Replenishment: Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery.
- Consultation and Training: Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users.
- Additional Duties: Undertake other duties as assigned, including repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles, and other tasks.
- Experience and Education: 3-5 years of mechanic experience or recent trade school graduate.
- Toolbox and Basic Hand Tools: Possess a toolbox and basic hand tools.
- Chassis PM Services: Ability to perform standard chassis PM services, including fluid and filter changes and grease components.
- Basic Inspections and Repairs: Ability to perform basic inspections and complete basic repairs.
- Assistance and Supervision: Ability and willingness to assist higher-level mechanics and perform repairs under their supervision.
- Driver's License and Heavy Equipment Experience: Have a valid driver's license, preferred. Experience working on heavy equipment, preferred.
- Attitude and Attendance: Willingness to learn, positive attitude, consistent attendance, and use of all required PPE and work safely.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work a flexible schedule, including overtime on occasion, and work in high noise environments with exposure to vibration and fumes.
