Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician I to join our team at Sonora Quest. As a Medical Laboratory Technician I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Testing: Conduct waived and non-waived tests in an accurate and timely manner, adhering to established policies and performance standards.
  • Ensure Quality and Compliance: Assist with department compliance with laboratory accrediting agencies and regulatory requirements, including CLIA '88, JCAHO, CAP, and OSHA.
  • Process Patient Samples: Collect, receive, and process biological specimens into the laboratory, ensuring correct patient and specimen identification and specimen integrity.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate courteously, professionally, and effectively with internal and external customers, participating in the resolution of communication issues.
  • Participate in Training and Development: Participate in training of laboratory personnel, complete required training modules, and seek out opportunities to identify projects relating to department needs.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or Bachelor's degree in chemical or biological science (transcripts will be reviewed to determine eligibility).
  • Experience: Equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirements defined in the CLIA regulation 42CFR, or meet other criteria defined in 42CFR or 42CFR (including US military medical laboratory procedures training courses).
  • Certifications: MLT certification (ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB) is preferred.
