General Manager Job Summary

As a key member of the Healthy Pet team, the General Manager will oversee Jesup plant operations, driving a culture of excellence through systems and processes. This role involves leveraging Continuous Improvement and Lean manufacturing practices to enhance Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and innovation. The General Manager will manage a team of ~110 staff, emphasizing leadership, communication, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive operational excellence through strategic planning and process improvement
  • Manage physical facilities, production equipment, and associated maintenance to ensure efficient operations
  • Oversee personnel and equipment to produce high-quality products, meeting customer expectations
  • Execute company goals and objectives for the Jesup facility, aligning with Healthy Pet's vision
  • Lead Continual Improvement initiatives to enhance processes, ensuring six-sigma compliance
  • Review and improve operational procedures to optimize performance
  • Develop cost-effective preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime
  • Establish a positive team culture, promoting workforce engagement and motivation
  • Drive a LEAN culture to achieve six-sigma certification
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience in Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or Lean manufacturing
  • 10-15 years of P&L manufacturing experience in a $75m+ company, preferably in consumer products, pulp and paper, or related sectors
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, with a strong understanding of operational management
  • Competitive salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience
