Product Development Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Product Development Engineer to join our R&D team at our Assembly Facility in San Antonio, TX. This individual will work in the Product Development group at the manufacturing facility and provide direct line production support for the vehicle's chassis and/or body systems, including EV chassis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop solutions to complex problems while maintaining the integrity of the product
  • Identify, troubleshoot, contain, and permanently correct engineering issues in the assembly plant
  • Develop mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from operators
  • Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Coordinate testing of design for durability and compliance to Federal, State, and local requirements
  • Work directly with Manufacturing, Materials, Quality, Purchasing, and other Product Development Engineering groups
  • Support Manufacturing and plant goals of safety, quality, and cost
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science
  • OR Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment
  • Additional Requirements: Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee) to be employed in the United States
