Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Gate Host to join our team at J.F. Shea Family of Companies. As a Gate Host, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our residents and guests, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience at our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcoming and Directing Visitors: Act as a goodwill ambassador to welcome all visitors approaching the gate, including residents, guests, potential purchasers, construction personnel, golfers, and restaurant guests.
  • Gate Operations: Lock and unlock community association facilities daily, set alarms, and respond to after-hours alarm calls.
  • Providing Gate System Information: Offer gate system card information and construction passes, complete required entry system documentation, and provide direction to visitors.
  • Facilitating Resident Services: Provide instruction for new owners on gate system operations, facilitate vacation watch parameters, and assist homeowners with entry gate operations.
  • Maintaining a Safe Environment: Monitor delivery services and suspicious vehicles, communicate with homeowners and construction personnel to confirm authorization for entry, and report maintenance-related issues to a supervisor.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: One to three years' experience working in a customer service setting, dealing with public patrons and members preferred.
  • Computer Literacy: Computer literate, with a basic understanding of the Internet, email, and entering work time.
  • Self-Motivation: Must be self-motivated, follow direction, and able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Problem-Solving: Must demonstrate initiative, with an ability to think, work, solve practical problems, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.
Work Environment

This position operates in both an indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to weather conditions and occasional native wildlife. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk, use hands to fingers, handle or feel, bend, and reach with hands and arms.
