Mercy Health is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary care team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care utilizing evidence-based practices, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Establish goals and strategies for meeting the discharge or continuing care needs with patients in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Collect and record nursing assessments of patients' physical and behavioral health status.
- Effectively communicate assessment information and plan of care to treatment team members and interdisciplinary teams.
- Apply effective interviewing skills to elicit information from patients and their families/significant others.
- Develop, maintain, or modify individualized treatment plans of care.
- Execute treatment plans as developed by providers and interdisciplinary team members.
- Continuously evaluate patients' responses to nursing interventions and quality of patient care to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in the safe management of the milieu and intervene effectively with patients experiencing coping difficulties.
- Act as a patient advocate.
- Current RN license in the state of employment or covered by compact.
- BLS Basic Life Support certification (preferred upon hire).
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (required for Pediatric BH Units).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
- 1 year of RN experience (preferred).
- Recent Behavioral Health experience (preferred).
This role may involve periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads. You may be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse, and may be required to use physical restraints. You may also be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights, and may have periods of constant interruptions.
