What We're Looking For

We're seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team. As a Software Engineer at Capital One, you'll work on a wide range of projects, from customer-facing web and mobile applications to highly-available RESTful services and back-end Java-based systems. You'll have the opportunity to work with emerging and traditional technologies, including Java, Springboot, Python, Angular, and AWS/Cloud Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios
  • Continuously improve software engineering practices
  • Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a fullstack of development tools and technologies
  • Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions
  • Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community
  • Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of experience in Java/Springboot & Python
  • 1+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
  • Nice to have: Angular or similar language
