Job Summary:

Piedmont is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. As a key member of our orthopedic department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with physicians to diagnose and treat patients, and performing a variety of patient care activities in accordance with established standards and practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribing necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
  • Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record the data in the patient's record; write progress notes; prepare patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
  • Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
  • Carry out therapeutic procedures such as cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changes; monitor progress of patients, report progress to supervising physician, and maintain record of each patient's progress.
  • Make diagnoses and formulate a treatment plan for patients; perform patient education on their disease state, as well as healthy living recommendations.
  • Provide clinical expertise and serve as a resource for office clinical staff in physician's absence.

Requirements:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience working as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • At least 1-2 years working in an orthopedic medical setting preferred but not required.
  • Masters, Bachelors Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification.
  • Or Licensed as a Nurse and approved to practice as a NP by State of Georgia with National Certification.
  • CPR/ACLS certification.
