Position Overview

This role involves assessing patients and delivering tailored inpatient rehabilitation therapy programs based on directives from medical professionals. The therapist collaborates and communicates effectively with the healthcare team to guide the patient towards the most suitable level of post-acute or home care, aiming to meet specific patient-centered objectives.

Educational Requirements

Mandatory - Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy.

Experience Requirements

Mandatory - None.

Licensure Requirements

Mandatory - Current occupational therapy license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity from another state. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is also required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Proficient in utilizing computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities, capable of managing a diverse range of patients and conditions.
  • Willingness to travel between various facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts evaluations and implements treatment programs to support patient-specific goals.
  • Monitors patient responses to treatment and suggests modifications to the treatment plan as necessary to enhance outcomes and ensure patient safety.
  • Maintains patient documentation in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensures that treatment protocols align with overall quality and safety objectives of the healthcare facility, contributing to positive patient safety outcomes.
  • Adjusts interactions to cater to the specific patient demographic, including respecting privacy, introducing oneself appropriately, and tailoring explanations of services or procedures.
  • Performs additional related duties as required.
