About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Cake Decorator to join our team at El Rio Grande Latin Market. As a key member of our Bakery department, you will be responsible for creating visually stunning pastries and desserts that exceed our customers' expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce a variety of pastries, including cakes, tortes, and other sweet treats.
- Use Bakery equipment such as cake mixers, spatulas, smoothers, and airbrushes to create intricate designs and patterns.
- Safely operate Bakery equipment and machinery, including balers and forklifts.
- Provide exceptional customer service, including answering questions and making recommendations on our Bakery products.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience in baking and producing Hispanic Bakery and pastry products.
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules and operating instructions.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
