We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Coordinator to join our team at One Senior Care. As a Medical Records Coordinator, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records for our participants.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish and maintain medical records for each participant
- Filing and requesting medical records from outside sources
- Assist with coordinating transportation arrangements for scheduled appointments
- Utilize word processing skills to prepare correspondence and reports from rough drafts and verbal instruction
- Maintain and enter all data on participants for program reporting and evaluation
- Attend required meetings
- Provide clerical support for Center staff
- Participate in and support Quality Improvement initiatives
- Medical records transcription skills, word processing, and data entry
- Relates well with people of all ages but has a deep sensitivity and commitment to the elderly
- Ability to organize work and follow through on assigned tasks
- Ability to address/manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to prioritize workload
- Ability to manage time to accomplish required tasks
- Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of medical records, medical terminology, medical transcription, word processing, and data entry experience preferred
- Completion of High School or equivalent
- Medical record or coding education
- Three to Five Years experience in medical records management, or coding
- One year of experience working with the frail and elderly population or willing to participate in extensive training as needed
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support staff/agencies
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility
- Must be able to lift residents, medical equipment, supplies, etc.
