The Role of a Lifetime: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Tooling and Automation

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on designing and developing precision tooling, material handling systems, and automation solutions for scaled production of our groundbreaking linear generator. Your expertise in manufacturing engineering will play a critical role in ensuring the successful manufacturing of high-precision components and assemblies at scale, focusing on quality, efficiency, and cost optimization.

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Design and Development: Lead the design of high-precision fixtures, tools, and equipment for electromechanical assembly and testing.
  • Develop material handling solutions, including AGVs, overhead lift assist systems, and custom conveyors.
  • Implement precision measuring systems and laser alignment processes for high-tolerance assembly.
  • Ensure all tooling and equipment meet rigorous quality and performance standards.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, operations, and procurement, to align manufacturing solutions with product requirements. You will also oversee the manufacturing and assembly of designed tooling and equipment, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on tooling and automation.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD) for tooling and fixture design.
  • Strong knowledge of material handling systems and automation technologies, including robotics and PLCs.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring systems, laser alignment tools, and GD&T principles.
  • Direct hands-on experience going through at least 1 complete cycle from new product introduction to manufacturing process set-up. Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) capability is a plus.
