Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Per Diem Surgical Technologist to join our team at North Mississippi Health Services. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile field for surgical procedures
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during operations
  • Pass instruments, sponges, and other necessary items to the surgical team
  • Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts
  • Assume care of specimens and ensure proper handling and disposal
  • Restock supplies and maintain a clean and organized operating room
  • Communicate effectively with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology or on-the-job training with two years scrub experience in an OR setting
  • Surgical Technologist certification preferred
  • American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification at HCP Level required
