Primary Responsibilities
The primary role involves assisting in the development of engineering designs, specifications, standards, studies, cost assessments, and sound technical recommendations to support various projects managed by other departments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting engineering calculations to address challenges related to new facilities and modifications to existing infrastructure within the electric and gas transmission/distribution systems.
  • Overseeing and coordinating feasibility studies and cost analyses for the design, construction, and permitting of electric facilities.
  • Providing technical guidance to project teams in evaluating and resolving engineering issues across multiple disciplines.
  • Gathering data, performing calculations, and preparing designs to formulate technically sound conclusions and recommendations.
  • Managing specific capital projects to ensure adherence to standards, timelines, and budgets.
  • Conducting investigations related to safety and reliability incidents.
  • Developing company standards, specifications, and procedures to govern the selection, design, application, and operation of materials and systems.
  • Staying informed about industry trends and technological advancements through continuous education and professional development.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or a Professional Engineer (PE) certification, along with five years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • A minimum of 3.5 years of progressively challenging engineering experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification.
  • Willingness to reside in Southern California or relocate upon hire.

Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work model, typically allowing for three days in the office and remote work on the remaining days. Some fieldwork is required, averaging about five days per month.
