The successful candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, with experience in leading complex projects and teams. They will be responsible for delivering multiple complex real-time software building blocks that enable the operation of the EUV source.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work closely with multiple peer group leaders in both San Diego and the Veldhoven HQ organization. They will be passionate about developing, attracting, and inspiring a diverse team of software engineering professionals to support the demanding timelines of the EUV source roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and operational credibility to the team
  • Create an organizational infrastructure that supports new development and manages the day-to-day business in an efficient manner
  • Provide group direction and drive for implementation
  • Demonstrate leadership in meeting cost, schedule, resource, quality, and functional program objectives
  • Build and maintain a high skill level in software engineering and test of ASML products
  • Propose and lead technology development activities that minimize development time and risk in product developments
  • Ensure quality of operation of the group by reviewing technical solutions proposed, procedures, documentation delivered by the group
  • Effectively identify and utilize outsourced engineering resources as necessary
  • Develop and enforce group engineering practices and design rules, consistent with corporate objectives
  • Allocate resources on a quarterly basis and respond to resource requirements on short notice
  • Develop group capabilities through the definition and execution of training plans for direct reports
  • May provide advanced management direction on a complex technical subject matter area
  • Act as a representative in cross-functional meetings to maintain coordination between the Software and the Plasma Controls and other functional organizations
  • Contribute to ASML San Diego's software engineering way of working
