If you have a passion for teaching, consider the role of an Instructor at Sylvan. In this position, your primary focus will be on delivering instruction without the responsibilities of lesson planning or preparation.

We are currently on the lookout for candidates with a strong background in advanced mathematics. As a part-time Instructor with Sylvan Learning, you will receive thorough training on our educational programs and the resources needed to facilitate classes in a small group format, maintaining a student-to-teacher ratio of 3:1. Your duties will encompass providing personalized instruction in Mathematics and SAT/ACT preparation, addressing the needs of students at all proficiency levels, from Algebra to Calculus. Flexible evening and weekend shifts are available to suit diverse schedules. Join us in our commitment to inspire and elevate students through education.

As a successful candidate, you will be expected to:

  • Implement Sylvan's specialized teaching programs
  • Engage, supervise, and motivate students during sessions, ensuring effective use of materials and equipment
  • Acknowledge and celebrate student achievements in completing assignments
  • Accurately assess and document student progress
  • Communicate student needs to the center director
  • Encourage a spirit of inspiration among students
  • Develop strong relationships with students to foster an engaging learning atmosphere
  • Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan's mission
