Job Title: Professional Land Surveyor

Stantec is seeking a highly skilled Professional Land Surveyor to join our Geomatics team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and reliable survey data to support our clients' projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct boundary surveys and prepare accurate survey documents.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate technical aspects of projects, including managing survey crews.
  • Engage with clients to discuss project progress, evaluate firm performance, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Lead teams and coordinate activities, including providing job assignments, information, and daily checking of work product.
  • Assist with business development, proposal preparation, project management, and final review of surveys.
Qualifications:
  • Effective leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work efficiently with teams and clients.
  • Excellent cooperative skills, with the ability to train, coordinate, and lead others in accomplishing work activities.
  • Advanced knowledge of local survey laws, surveying principles, techniques, and procedures, as well as occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in survey processing software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Working knowledge of field instrumentation, GPS, and robotic total stations.
  • Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
  • Strong math skills, including algebra and trigonometry.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Geomatics, Surveying, or a related field, and licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor in the state or province.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in surveying, with a strong background in boundary surveys and survey data analysis.

Typical office environment with computer work and sedentary periods, with occasional fieldwork in various weather conditions.
