Our innovative blended learning model encourages active participation in a diverse array of educational experiences, including our Learning Lab, music program, physical education, and the Edible Schoolyard (ESY) initiative.

Role Summary

As an educator at Grow Public Schools, you will cultivate an engaging classroom atmosphere that promotes high expectations for student development and success. Your responsibilities will include designing, organizing, and delivering lessons that align with educational standards, while also addressing the unique health and wellness needs of each student. Collaboration with fellow educators and support staff is essential to ensure the delivery of a robust academic program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and adapt the Grow Public Schools Units of Study along with high-quality instructional resources.
  • Design and execute integrated lesson plans that foster deep understanding in alignment with state standards.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learners, including English Language Learners and students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Engage in weekly instructional coaching sessions to analyze student learning and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Create a classroom environment that embodies the school's core values and promotes a culture of college readiness.
  • Collaborate with learning lab staff and Small Group Instructors (SGIs) to support students' Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) through tailored online learning platforms.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of standards-based assessments using various management systems.
  • Communicate regularly with students, families, colleagues, and school leadership to foster a supportive educational community.
  • Provide constructive feedback on student performance and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
  • Implement the Positive Behavior Intervention and Support framework consistently, keeping families informed about student behavior and academic progress.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records as required by educational regulations and policies.
  • Prepare necessary reports regarding student activities and performance.
  • Deliver social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum to support the overall well-being of students.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and skill development in working with students from varied backgrounds.
  • Encourage community and parental involvement, responding promptly to inquiries and communications.
  • Participate actively in professional development opportunities provided by the organization or external partners.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Valid California state Multiple or Single Subject teaching credential or intern credential, including English Learner Authorization.
  • Proven expertise in classroom management, instructional planning, and assessment practices.
  • Familiarity with various educational technologies and teaching tools.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred but not mandatory.
Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to communicate effectively, stand, sit, walk, and use hands for various tasks. The employee may occasionally need to lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

This position is primarily in-person within educational facilities, with occasional travel to other sites as necessary.
