Key Responsibilities:- Assessment and Treatment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to identify communication and swallowing disorders, and develop individualized treatment plans to address these needs.
- Collaboration with Interdisciplinary Team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on effective communication and swallowing strategies, and provide guidance on how to maintain and improve communication and swallowing skills.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress.
- Continuing Education: Stay up-to-date with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in speech-language pathology to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Master's Degree: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Licensure and Certification: Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of practice, and certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Experience: At least one year of experience working in an in-patient rehabilitation setting with an adult population.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficiency in electronic health records (EHRs) and other relevant software.
