Exciting Opportunity for Histotechnicians at Top Suburban Chicago Clinical Laboratory

We are seeking highly skilled histotechnicians to join our team at a top suburban Chicago clinical laboratory. As a histotechnician, you will play a critical role in the preparation of gross specimens, embedding tissues, processing tissue specimens, cutting tissues, and performing various stains to provide valuable data on tissue and organ function, disease causes, and progression.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare gross specimens for histopathological examination
  • Embed tissues in paraffin or other embedding media
  • Process tissue specimens using various techniques
  • Cut tissues into thin sections for microscopic examination
  • Perform immunoperoxidase staining and other specialized stains
  • Assist the pathologist with grossing of specimens and preparation of microscopic slides
  • Develop and implement new techniques and procedures

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in histotechnology or related field preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in histotechnology or related field
  • Strong knowledge of histological techniques and procedures
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
