Certification Requirements:

Position Overview:
This role involves caring for post-operative cardiac catheterization patients or overflow patients in cardiac observation beds. The nurse will be responsible for managing a patient load of 3 to 4 individuals, ensuring proper titration of intravenous medications.

Responsibilities:
- Provide general nursing care and assist with unit clerk duties as necessary.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac strips.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality patient care.

Shift Information:
- Shifts available: 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM
- Weekend Requirement: Unit operates Monday through Friday, with potential Saturday shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM.
- Holiday Requirement: Rotational coverage is expected.
- No on-call or standby duties.

Floating Requirements:
- Nurses may be required to float to Med-Surg units as needed.

Unit Specifics:
- Nurse to patient ratio is maintained at 1 to 3 or 1 to 4.
- One Patient Care Technician (C.N.A) is available for every 11 patients.
- Equipment includes C-Pap, Bi-Pap, and High flow O2.

Orientation:
- Comprehensive orientation includes general hospital orientation, nursing orientation, computer training, and two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor.
- An abbreviated Initial Skills Checklist is due within 90 days of the start date.

Additional Information:
- Common titratable and set rate drips include Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone, and Low dose Dopamine.
- A House Supervisor is available 24/7, and a registered nurse will be assigned charge duties.
