Job Summary and Qualifications
Provide care for patients undergoing Nuclear Medicine procedures.
Perform all responsibilities directly associated with procedures using radioactive isotopes for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, adhering to ALARA standards.
Operate equipment designed to measure radiation, generate images, quantify physiological responses, and communicate images and data to the physician for evaluation.
Utilize practices and techniques to guarantee the safe management of radioactive materials, particularly when administering radiopharmaceuticals (both orally and intravenously) as prescribed by the authorized physician.
All personnel at North Florida Regional Medical Center will foster a culture of safety, comply with established policies, and adhere to all state and federal regulations, Joint Commission standards, and National Patient Safety guidelines.
Qualifications Required:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- State of Florida Registered Radiologic Technologist as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
- Registered Radiographer (ARRT) (N) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB).
