Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Manager to oversee and facilitate the supply chain operations of our manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective distribution of goods, managing inventory, coordinating with suppliers and customers, and maintaining accurate records of shipments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor open customer orders to prevent delays due to transportation issues, missing information, poor planning, or lack of communication.
  • Manage a team of employees, including interviewing, hiring, training, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Schedule shipments to meet promised deadlines and coordinate with the production team to align inventory levels with production schedules.
  • Receive orders and ensure they ship from the correct warehouse, coordinating with the sales team to confirm order details and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare regular reports on logistics performance, including delivery times, costs, and inventory turnover.
  • Expedite backordered items and assist customer service representatives with order status inquiries and special customer needs.
  • Resolve delivery problems and manage transfers to warehouse.
  • Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related field within a manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with computerized distribution systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Normal Working Hours and Conditions: Core business hours are generally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. However, this position may require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on Company operations.

Physical Requirements: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting, including verbally communicating, seeing and hearing to exchange information, and fine coordination. Daily physical functions include standing, sitting, and walking for prolonged periods of time and occasionally stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting. The employee may engage in lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling light to moderate amounts of weight up to 25 pounds. The position also requires the operation of office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement.
