Position Overview:
The Concessions Associate is responsible for preparing and serving concession items to patrons. This includes the preparation and serving of beverages. The role demands a commitment to maintaining high standards of food presentation and customer service. Proficiency in operating a cash register and handling transactions is essential. Consistent attendance in line with company policies is required.
This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $20.00, plus tips.
Part-time employees are eligible for benefits such as a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions.
Additionally, OVG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship staff with one hour of accrued paid leave for every 30 hours worked, accumulating up to 48 hours annually.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage cash register operations by taking orders, assembling items, and finalizing transactions.
2. Demonstrate the ability to prepare food and possess knowledge across all facets of concession operations.
3. Maintain inventory levels and communicate with the Concessions Stand Manager regarding low stock items.
4. Actively listen and respond to customer inquiries and concerns.
5. Ensure a clean and organized workspace, including the proper disposal of waste and cleaning of utensils.
6. Serve beverages, including alcoholic options, responsibly, ensuring compliance with age verification regulations.
7. Uphold sanitation, health, and safety standards in all work areas.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- A minimum of three months' experience in the food service industry is preferred.
- Previous experience handling cash is advantageous.
- Ability to learn cash handling procedures and operate a cash register system.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, positive demeanor with colleagues, supervisors, and guests.
Must possess or be willing to obtain the Illinois Basset Certification to legally serve alcohol in Illinois.
