Crane Operator

BlueScope Recycling is seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team on a night shift basis. As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for operating industrial cranes and other equipment to move materials, supplies, and finished products within our facility.

• Operate a grapple or mag crane to load, unload, and move scrap materials within the yard.
• Perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on crane equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures while handling materials and operating crane machinery.
• Transport scrap materials from storage areas, trucks, or other locations to designated processing or storage areas using crane equipment.
• Handle materials carefully to prevent damage and ensure proper positioning and stacking.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to earn BlueScope Recycling's crane certification.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to crane operation and material handling.
• Ability to interpret work orders, follow instructions, and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Physical stamina and strength to lift and maneuver heavy materials and operate crane controls for extended periods.

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions. The ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary is also required.
