Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technologist to join our team at Jackson Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will provide technical support services to our anesthesia team and ensure the smooth operation of our anesthesia equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and resolve electronic or mechanical problems with anesthesia machines and equipment.
  • Set up and apply specialized anesthesia equipment, including rapid fluid administration systems and blood salvage and re-infusion systems.
  • Assemble systems for invasive monitoring and perform corrective action necessary to correct electronic or mechanical problems in anesthesia machines.
  • Inspect, test, and install replacement medical and compressed gas cylinders on anesthesia machines.
  • Inventory and maintain an appropriate supply of medical and compressed gas cylinders used as emergency cylinder supply.
  • Assist clinical staff to transport anesthesia machines, monitors, and anesthesia supplies from the primary anesthesia sites.
  • Complete documentation for activity during blood salvage and re-infusion.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
  • High School diploma required.
  • 0-3 years of related experience.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure.
  • Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
  • ASATT Certification preferred.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers required upon hire.
