Position Overview
As a key player in the manufacturing sector, the Production Engineer – Paper Machines will spearhead project initiatives and provide essential technical guidance to the operations of paper machinery. This role is dedicated to fostering enhancements through modifications in equipment, methodologies, and product designs.

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead initiatives aimed at boosting quality, enhancing yield, minimizing downtime, accelerating production speeds, cutting costs, and optimizing working capital.
2. Monitor performance metrics and pinpoint areas ripe for enhancement.
3. Investigate production inefficiencies to determine root causes and devise effective solutions.
4. Develop operator-centric systems to facilitate better troubleshooting.
5. Ensure that product grades and process specifications align with operational capabilities, focusing on critical variable alignment.
6. Support machine shutdowns and startups, ensuring follow-through on maintenance activities.
7. Collaborate with superintendents to refine operator routines.
8. Aid in establishing accurate productivity benchmarks and material requirements by product grade.
9. Drive projects aimed at creating a visually organized workplace, reducing waste, and minimizing process variation.

Qualifications
Experience: 2 to 5 years in the paper, converting, or coating sectors is preferred.
Competencies: Demonstrated leadership abilities, a strong commitment to driving improvements, excellent communication skills, high motivation, teamwork orientation, and accountability for decisions and their impacts.
Experience with project management and lean/six sigma methodologies is advantageous.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in pulp and paper or chemical engineering is preferred, though other technical fields may be considered with relevant experience.
