Assembly Technician Job Description

At inSync Staffing, we are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the correct operation of automatic and semi-automatic assembly production equipment in accordance with governing documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform machine and systems troubleshooting and repair; assist with the specification, installation and modification of integrated systems.
  • Perform diagnostic checks on automated equipment; isolate problems including, sensors, controllers, encoders, servomotors, and/or servo valves.
  • Make repairs to production equipment utilizing the following skill sets: Controls, drawings, electrical, general mechanics, hand tools, hydraulics, machine shop, piping systems, pneumatics, and welding.
  • Complete shift start up paperwork such as process parameter, traceability, and start-up checklist.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks - includes all Level I required tasks as per MP.
  • Understand machine MO, PC, WP, STM and Interim Specifications.
  • Perform changeovers - line clearance of components and tooling changeouts.
  • Fill component hoppers and complete necessary traceability paperwork.
  • Pull inspection test samples and stage for QC Operator.
  • Engage in machine troubleshooting on all assigned stations.
  • Update hourly production boards with production and efficiency numbers for all Mods; note issues that prevented goal attainment (downtime, waste, quality, etc.)
  • Process warehouse ordering of components and pull tooling for changeovers.
  • Submit machine repair tags to identify issues requiring support services.
  • Perform all functions of a Team Operator when required.
  • Assist with training of new Technicians. Maintain 5S standards in assigned work areas.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma, or GED required. Technical school background desirable.
  • Up to 3 years of manufacturing experience. Previous experience with automated and semi-automated equipment preferred.
Work Environment:
  • Work involves use of manufacturing equipment or close proximity to equipment. May be exposed to biohazards and/or chemicals.
  • Work environment can range from clean room and proper gowning requirements to a production area that is open, potentially noisy, and with moving equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. and push/pull up to 80 lbs.
  • Recurring physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, crouching, climbing, bilateral motion involving hands, wrists, and upper body.
  • Concentrated visual attention to perform checks on products and components.
  • Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
