$58.08 / hour. Salary is based on the applicant's relevant experience.
Position Overview:
The Cardiac Imaging Specialist conducts diagnostic examinations to evaluate cardiac structures and blood flow, adhering to established standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct echocardiography examinations on patients.
- Select and utilize transducers based on anatomical requirements; distinguish between normal and abnormal structures; ensure adequate information is collected for accurate diagnosis.
- Analyze imaging results and identify any quality issues.- Document, transmit, and communicate scan findings.
- Review patient medical history and physician directives. Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and examinations to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Prepare and administer contrast agents and/or medications as per scope of practice when required. Monitor patient conditions and report any changes.
- Choose appropriate imaging parameters and exposure settings.
- Implement safety protocols and perform quality control checks on equipment. Troubleshoot and report any equipment issues.
- This role requires critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Registered Sonographer
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
- Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer
Educational Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
Licensure/Certification:
- Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- State licensure as required by law.Experience:
- No prior experience required.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer must be obtained before the start date. BLS or CPR certification must remain valid for at least sixty days post-hire.
