Geotechnical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Geosyntec Consultants. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for applying your knowledge and experience to real-world situations related to contaminated site assessment and remediation, bulkhead installation and shoreline stability, and environmental due diligence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategies to address complex problems with large, multidisciplinary teams
  • Perform civil design, bulkhead design, shoreline design, and site layout
  • Conduct geotechnical engineering analyses such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, seismic, and seepage
  • Participate in field work associated with design and construction services, including inspection of sheet pile materials and oversight of obstruction removal
  • Develop and manage instrumentation monitoring systems
  • Prepare engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (required)
  • Masters degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E. P.G.) (preferred)
  • At least 2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
  • Experience with modeling/design tools such as AUTOCAD, Slope/W, Vadose/W, Sigma/W, FLAC, and ARCGIS (preferred)
