We are excited to announce an opening for a Senior Engineer / Program Manager to take on a leadership role within our local office. The selected candidate will report to the Director of Flood Control and will oversee a diverse engineering team while managing complex flood control initiatives along the Gulf and East Coast.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project teams through the design phases of flood control initiatives, from initial concepts to detailed designs, including plans and specifications.
  • Manage project activities, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and timelines while collaborating closely with team members, sub-consultants, and clients.
  • Design and oversee various flood control projects, contributing technical expertise and leadership.
  • Act as a mentor and manager to a diverse team of engineering and environmental professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Engage in business development efforts, including proposal writing and presentation preparation.
  • Support marketing strategies for the Flood Control service line.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in Civil or Structural engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Proven technical and analytical skills in flood control project design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for a consulting environment.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring engineering staff.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Experience in proposal preparation and business development.
  • Willingness to travel as required for business and project needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing project designs from concept to detailed execution.
  • Familiarity with creating construction bid packages and job estimates.
  • Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in relevant software.
  • Ability to collaborate with large project teams and engage with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Active involvement in the engineering community through associations, conferences, and publications.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
