Stability Direct is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform a variety of duties in preparing patients for imaging of particular organs to furnish diagnostic information. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating nuclear medicine equipment, preparing radioactive materials, and maintaining quality control procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all Nuclear Medicine Scanning procedures as outlined in the Nuclear Medicine procedure manual.
  • Operate each Nuclear Medicine Scanner and ancillary equipment thoroughly and with competence.
  • Monitor and record all radioactive materials received in the department for leakage or damage.
  • Maintain and document all records as required by the NRC and DEP.
  • Prepare radioactive doses and materials for daily patient administration.
  • Maintain quality control procedures on all equipment.
  • Operate all nuclear imaging equipment and ancillary equipment thoroughly and with competence.
  • Perform all Nuclear Medicine procedures as outlined in the manual.
  • Assist physicians in performing procedures and computer enhancing of images.
  • Responsibilities will require the ability to read, write, and rationally comprehend the English language.
  • Select proper techniques in imaging on an individual patient basis.
  • Maintain records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients.
  • Consult with patients to obtain a complete clinical history. Gather pertinent clinical data.
  • Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, evening/weekend hours in order to meet the operational needs of the Department and/or Hospital.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities set forth by administrative staff.
  • Review patient charts for proper exam of physician's orders.
  • Schedule cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
  • Protect self and patients from injury and unnecessary radiation through direct visual observation.
  • Differentiate anatomical abnormalities, notify Radiologist.
  • Clinically instruct any students rotating through Nuclear Medicine.
  • Perform all computer processing and imaging to ensure quality enhancement.
  • Troubleshoot any problems that occur with equipment before calling for service.
  • Participate in on-call rotation in accordance with the needs of the department.
  • Rotate to all shifts as needed.
  • Assist and transport patients in emergency situations to designated areas. Arrange for transportation to and from nursing units.
  • Adjust personal schedule in case of fluctuations in workload of the department.
  • Demonstrate ability to recognize priorities and deal with them promptly.
  • Attend all staff meetings.
  • Report any suggestions or opportunities for improvement to manager.
  • Comply with CE guidelines set forth by ARRT.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree Graduate of an AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine Program Required.
  • Training and experience in radiation safety and protection Required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Nuclear Medicine Instrumentation, in-vivo and in-vitro procedures, computer programming, and radiation safety.
Licenses and Certifications
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire Required or
  • NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine Tech Upon Hire Required
  • Possess current NJDEP licenses in Nuclear Medicine and Limited CT Fusion Upon Hire Required
Work Schedule

Full Time
Days - M-F 9a-5:30p - call, every 3rd weekend

+$1 - weekend differential
