Position Overview:

The CIP System Technician plays a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of Clean-In-Place (CIP) systems throughout the facility, ensuring the thorough cleanliness and sanitation of equipment. This position involves monitoring chemical usage, concentrations, flow rates, and temperatures during sanitation operations. Strong leadership skills and strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation protocols, safety regulations, timekeeping, and personal conduct are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate CIP systems to effectively clean and sanitize production equipment, including membrane systems and vats.
  • Conduct titrations on CIP caustics, acids, and sanitizers while understanding their limits.
  • Operate Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and make necessary recipe adjustments to validate cleanliness.
  • Collaborate with management to conduct annual CIP validations.
  • Communicate any equipment issues or potential improvements to management for optimal cleaning outcomes.
  • Coordinate with external chemical suppliers for support and verification.
  • Monitor wastewater usage and implement reduction strategies during CIP operations.
  • Maintain accurate records for quality control purposes.
  • Train and guide other production staff on CIP systems throughout the facility.
  • Assist with cleaning practices for Cheesemakers, Reverse Osmosis Operators, and Drain Belt equipment.
  • Maintain and document the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in food manufacturing is preferred but not mandatory.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and take initiative to complete tasks, coupled with a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
  • Accountability for the productivity and efficiency of the facility and production line.
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and behavior.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures (SOPs/SSOPs).
  • Flexibility in job roles, assisting teammates and covering breaks as needed to meet business demands.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, demonstrating honesty, integrity, and a high level of personal hygiene in accordance with GMPs, along with dependable attendance.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Capable of standing for a minimum of 11 hours.
  • Ability to work in environments with temperature fluctuations.
  • Experience in a fast-paced and organized setting.
  • Must be able to reach overhead.
