Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Observation Unit team at Nebraska Medicine. As a key member of our medical-surgical team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to a collaborative and dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients requiring observation and treatment for various medical conditions, including chest pain, asthma, abdominal pain, kidney stones, and minor infections.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Administer medications, perform various medical procedures, and provide education to patients and their families.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire or transfer date required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct patient care experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree preferred.
