SUMMARY: This role is designed to foster collaboration among students, staff, parents, and the community, aligning with the district's vision and mission to enhance student performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist educational staff in crafting and executing academic and behavioral strategies.
- Support staff in the design, demonstration, and development of behavioral techniques and social-emotional competencies.
- Monitor student behavior in educational settings, providing written feedback on interventions and tracking student and staff progress.
- Help staff in gathering, evaluating, and interpreting academic, behavioral, and attendance data, demonstrating their interconnections.
- Inform families about behavioral and academic support options.
- Train staff on effective behavioral intervention techniques and social-emotional skills applicable to both general and special education environments.
- Develop coherent instructional strategies and curricula that encourage socially acceptable behavior.
- Facilitate opportunities for students with emotional and behavioral challenges to practice appropriate social skills in structured environments.
- Engage in the RTI process as necessary.
- Serve as a bridge between families, educational institutions, and community organizations.
- Identify and coordinate community resources.
- Assist families in understanding and utilizing educational services and policies.
- Provide advocacy to families to support the development of social skills, independence, and community involvement.
- Consult with families to evaluate and prioritize strengths and needs, set objectives, and create behavioral and academic plans, including home visits when required.
- Establish and nurture positive relationships with students, staff, community members, and service providers.
- Uphold a high standard of ethical conduct and confidentiality.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
- Master's degree is preferred.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
- Preferred experience working with diverse linguistic and cultural populations.
- Experience with children exhibiting behavioral and emotional challenges.
- Interpreting general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Principles and practices of program management.

Positions in this classification require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in an indoor office environment.
