Adult Services Librarian Job Description

Kitsap Regional Library is seeking a highly skilled and community-focused Adult Services Librarian to join our team at the Silverdale location. As a key member of our library team, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement a comprehensive Adult Services program that meets the diverse needs of our community.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement library services, programs, and outreach within the library and for the community.
  • Lead and support the library's mission, vision, and values.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, volunteer groups, and patrons.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, including digital media, and apply this knowledge to improve library services.
  • Collaborate with branch and service center staff to evaluate collections, develop new programs, and maintain special collections.

Requirements:
  • Master of Library Science degree from an American Library Association accredited school and Washington State certification as a librarian or ability to obtain an MLS degree within three months of employment start date.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance and adapt to rapidly changing information, technology, work procedures, and library services.

Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range of $67,728.00-$93,751.39 per year, depending on experience.
  • Eligibility for medical, dental, vision, basic life, AD&D, long-term disability insurance plans, health reimbursement arrangement (HRA), and employee assistance program.
  • 25 days of vacation leave, 13 days of sick leave, and 1 personal day per year.
  • Participation in the Washington State Public Employees Retirement System (PERS).
