**Position Overview:** The Project Engineering Associate is responsible for managing and analyzing critical information to ensure project completion aligns with established timelines, budgets, and quality standards as outlined in contract documents. This role includes supervisory responsibilities for Engineering Assistants, Plan Clerks, and Interns.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Serve as a key liaison among architects, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, inspectors, and other project stakeholders to address and resolve issues related to plans and specifications.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of all general contract and subcontract documents, along with the project estimate. Oversee and make informed decisions regarding contract drawings and subcontractor information, ensuring alignment with the estimate.
  • Manage the project budget effectively.
  • Oversee submittals and shop drawings, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Negotiate change orders and manage information regarding project modifications, including obtaining necessary approvals and resolving conflicts.
  • Facilitate the project close-out process, preparing essential records such as RFIs, warranties, as-builts, and operation manuals, ensuring compliance with contract documents.
  • Supervise Engineering Assistants, Plan Clerks, and Interns, providing input on performance evaluations.
  • Prepare detailed scope of work documents for various trades.
  • Develop and maintain reports related to project conditions, labor, safety, change orders, and quality control.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractor meetings, including preconstruction and submittal review sessions.

**Qualifications:** A Bachelor's degree coupled with a minimum of two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and training. Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in computer applications, including the Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with advanced technologies such as BIM and LEAN methodologies. Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project schedules effectively. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills are essential.

**Physical Demands:** The physical requirements for this position include the ability to navigate construction sites, which may involve climbing stairs, using construction personnel hoists, and negotiating work areas. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This role may also require lifting and/or moving objects up to 50 lbs.

**Work Environment:** The role is primarily conducted on-site at construction locations, where employees may encounter moving mechanical parts, high places, and varying weather conditions. The noise level in this environment can range from moderate to very loud.
