Description

The Sleep Study Technician is responsible for conducting assessments and gathering information on individuals experiencing sleep-related issues.

This role involves providing patients with clear explanations regarding the upcoming sleep evaluations and procedures, setting up necessary equipment, documenting activities, and interpreting findings—all while operating under the guidance of a Medical Director and/or sleep technologist.

To excel in this position, technicians should possess relevant training in polysomnography along with CPR certification.


Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • Completion of a recognized sleep technology program affiliated with a state-licensed and/or nationally accredited educational institution or Healthcare Credential (RN, LPN, RT) with a minimum of 546 hours of clinical experience, and enrollment in the A-STEP Program.
  • BCLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Certification as RPSGT, CPSGT, RST, or a Respiratory SDS is preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience is advantageous.
