Job Summary

The Aviation Technical Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Control Center. This role will involve providing leadership and direction to the MCC team, monitoring and coordinating aircraft maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Direction
    • Provide strategic guidance and direction to the MCC team, including Maintenance Controllers and support staff.
    • Develop and implement effective leadership strategies to drive team performance and achieve business objectives.
  • Maintenance Operations
    • Monitor and coordinate aircraft maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.
    • Manage maintenance schedules, resource allocation, and workload distribution.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with the airline customer to prioritize maintenance tasks and optimize operational efficiency.
    • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including airline technical operations, aircraft and liaison engineering, and logistics personnel.
  • Performance Analysis and Improvement
    • Analyze MCC performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive training programs for MCC personnel, including Maintenance Controllers and Technical Support Personnel.
  • Documentation and Records Management
    • Create, organize, and manage documentation related to MCC processes, maintenance procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • SLA and Reliability Management
    • Ensure that SLAs reliability reports are aligned with business objectives and regularly reviewed to meet changing requirements.
  • Process Development and Improvement
    • Develop clear, well-organized, and comprehensive processes and procedures to meet operational and business requirements.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making
    • Apply logical reasoning and critical thinking to deliver valuable insights and contributions.

Requirements

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in aviation management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience
    • 7+ years of leading a team.
    • Previous experience in airline maintenance.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • MS in aeronautical, electrical, computer, mechanical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
    • In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations (FAA or equivalent) and industry standards.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in using MCC software and tools.
    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Project management experience is a plus.
