Job Overview

BETA GROUP INC is a leading New England-based consultant engineering firm seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Infrastructure Specialist to join our team.

This role will play a key part in performing highway design, developing contract plans and documents, and mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate will collaborate across multiple service areas, assist with business development, project pursuits, and coordinate projects with clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering design, review, and preparation of contract documents for transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Provide technical oversight and mentor junior staff members in the design and development process.
  • Prepare and review contract documents and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with design team members and provide technical support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide exceptional client service and assist with proposal pursuits to secure new projects.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in transportation engineering, with a focus on highway design, stormwater management, ADA compliance, and roadway construction practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D and Microstation OpenRoads Designer.
  • Experience with MUTCD, AASHTO, MassDOT design requirements, and RIDEM and CRMC permitting regulations.
  • Ability to collect field data and measurements, including roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets, and perform asset inspections.
  • Physical ability to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds and perform field work in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer license.
