Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with worn or damaged mold components for effective repairs.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and gauges, for accurate assessments.
- Employ preventive maintenance software to monitor mold operation and schedule necessary maintenance and repairs.
- Comprehend complex mold assemblies to guide team members in the assembly and disassembly processes.
- Disassemble, clean, lubricate, and reassemble molds as required.
- Execute mold insert changes within the press.
- Safely handle tools, equipment, and molds in accordance with safety protocols.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including quality standards and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Assist Mold Makers in mold assembly and disassembly tasks as needed.
- Promote positive working relationships within the team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience with plastic injection molds.
- Proficient in operating manual machine tools, including mills, lathes, and surface grinders.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capabilities.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Possession of personal hand tools.
- Fundamental shop math skills.
- Commitment to safety practices.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Dedicated and career-oriented mindset.
- Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with supervisors.
- Self-motivated with strong communication skills and reliable attendance.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical capability to engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of materials.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
