Job Title: Assistant Purchasing Manager

The Assistant Purchasing Manager will be responsible for working with our team of Plant Buyers and Dispatcher to track and prioritize schedules for plant quotes, purchasing, submittals, and receiving and shipment of nursery stock to our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with Plant Buyers and Dispatcher to manage plant purchasing and receiving processes
  • Track and prioritize schedules for plant quotes, purchasing, submittals, and shipments
  • Collaborate with internal customers to establish schedules and ensure timely delivery of nursery stock
  • Monitor shipments to ensure goods arrive on time and resolve issues related to undelivered or poor-quality goods
  • Present opportunities for improvements in efficiency and accuracy within the Plant Buying office
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of purchasing and office administration experience
  • Commercial landscape construction background or experience
  • Procurement experience in landscaping, plant nursery, or related industry
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Horticulture knowledge or experience is a plus
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic and exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
