The Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) is looking for a Reentry Supported Employment Specialist who will support individuals with disabilities transitioning from juvenile correctional facilities to find and maintain competitive, integrated employment opportunities.


Established in 1983, the Virginia RRTC offers vital resources for professionals, individuals with disabilities, and their advocates.

Our esteemed team of researchers is focused on developing and promoting evidence-based practices to enhance the employment prospects and retention of individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Qualified candidates will engage in business development initiatives aimed at fostering partnerships that promote employment for individuals with disabilities. The Reentry Supported Employment Specialist will deliver direct services and support at job sites, assisting employees with disabilities in achieving independence in their roles. Services are tailored to individual needs and may require evening and weekend availability to accommodate client schedules. This position is primarily field-based and calls for an organized self-starter who enjoys building connections within the community. The role serves various regions and may involve overseeing internship-to-employment projects. The Specialist typically operates independently or as part of a team, working under limited supervision to resolve standard to moderately complex issues, while referring highly complex matters to senior staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • A valid driver's license.
