Position Overview

The Family Support Worker plays a crucial role in providing assistance to families in need. This position involves offering guidance and support to clients through a comprehensive understanding of social services and vocational case management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized service plans based on thorough psycho-social assessments to identify clients' personal, social, health, and economic needs.
  • Independently locate and connect clients with federal, state, local, and private resources to address their specific needs.
  • Educate clients on relevant clinical procedures and facilitate coordination of care with community resources.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proficient knowledge of family service principles, ethics, and practices, including the development of treatment plans and resource acquisition.
  • Understanding of child development, parent-child interactions, and the effects of trauma, abuse, and neglect.
  • Experience in individual counseling, relationship building, and effective communication.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including web-based case management documentation.
