Job Title: Inspector

RK&K is currently hiring Inspectors of all levels in the Staunton and Harrisonburg area. As a Construction Inspector, you will conduct testing and analysis of highway and bridge construction materials and adherence to engineering plans on site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide construction management support, including inspection and monitoring of roadway and bridge structures to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Fully engage in solving problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions
  • Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects
  • Record-keeping and reporting as required
Requirements:
  • Some knowledge of materials, standards, and specifications related to state highway projects and facilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Inspection experience including roadway, asphalt, concrete, pavement markings, structure and bridge construction methods
  • VDOT and other local public agency experience desired
  • VDOT Material Certifications are a plus (Asphalt, Concrete, Pavement Marking, Soils, Intermediate Traffic Control Certified, etc.)
  • Site Manager experience a plus
