Job Description:

As a Certified Surgical First Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing patients for surgery, assisting with vital tasks such as suturing and clamping, and positioning patients to ensure a safe operation.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Performing first assist duties
  • Assisting with surgical procedures
  • Applying dressings
  • Sterilizing the operation site
  • Inserting tubes and intravenous lines
  • Providing pre and post-operative care to patients
  • Completing clerical work such as record keeping and handling communications
  • Communicating surgeon's preferences and patient needs to the surgical team
  • Positioning patients for operations
  • Preparing the incision site
